Waste Removals London Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Waste Removals London provides waste removal and waste collection services to domestic and commercial customers. By booking or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing an order or confirming a collection.

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings given below:

Customer means the person, company, or organisation that requests or pays for the waste removal service.

Service means any waste removal, waste collection, clearance, loading, transportation, or disposal service provided by Waste Removals London.

Waste means any items, materials, or substances the Customer asks us to remove, excluding prohibited or hazardous items that we are not authorised to handle.

Booking means a confirmed request for our services, whether placed online, by telephone, or in writing.

Site means the premises, property, or location where the Service is to be carried out.

2. Scope of Service

Waste Removals London provides waste removal and waste collection services, including but not limited to household rubbish removal, bulky waste removal, garden waste, light construction and renovation waste, as well as certain commercial waste collections.

The exact nature and scope of the Service will be agreed at the time of booking based on the information provided by the Customer. Services are limited to the collection, loading, and transportation of waste for lawful disposal or recycling at authorised facilities, in line with applicable UK waste management regulations.

We reserve the right to refuse to remove any Waste that we reasonably believe is hazardous, prohibited, unsafe to handle, incorrectly described, or not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

3. Booking Process

Bookings can be made by telephone or via our online enquiry and booking systems. When making a booking, the Customer must provide accurate and complete information about:

the type and approximate quantity of waste to be removed

the location and access conditions at the Site

any time restrictions at the Site

any special handling requirements

For many waste collection services, an estimated price will be given based on the Customer's description. The final price may be confirmed or adjusted on arrival, once our team has inspected the Waste and access conditions.

A booking is considered accepted when we confirm the date, time window, and estimated price. We reserve the right to decline a booking at our discretion.

4. Access and Customer Responsibilities

The Customer must ensure that our team has safe, reasonable, and uninterrupted access to the Site and the Waste at the agreed collection time. This includes providing any necessary access codes, parking arrangements, or permissions from building management or neighbours.

The Customer is responsible for:

ensuring that the Waste to be collected is clearly identified and accessible

obtaining any permits or consents required for vehicle access or loading

ensuring that the Site is safe for our staff to work, free from hazards and obstructions

supervising any children, pets, or third parties on the Site while the Service is carried out

If we are unable to carry out the Service due to lack of access, incorrect information, safety concerns, or because the Waste materially differs from the description provided, we may cancel or reschedule the booking and may charge a call-out or wasted journey fee.

5. Waste Types and Restrictions

Our standard waste removal services are intended for general non-hazardous waste, such as household items, furniture, appliances, bagged rubbish, garden waste, and light construction debris.

We do not ordinarily collect hazardous or special waste, including but not limited to:

asbestos or materials containing asbestos

clinical, medical, or biological waste

chemicals, solvents, paints, oils, fuels, or pressurised cylinders

explosives, firearms, ammunition, or weapons

radioactive materials

any waste classified as hazardous under applicable UK waste legislation

If hazardous or prohibited items are discovered among the Waste, we may refuse to remove them, adjust the price to reflect specialist disposal charges, or terminate the Service. The Customer will be responsible for any additional costs or liabilities arising from misdescribed or undeclared hazardous waste.

6. Pricing and Quotations

Prices are usually based on the volume and type of Waste, the labour required, and any additional factors such as difficult access, heavy items, or additional loading time.

Any quotation given prior to arrival is an estimate only, based on the information provided by the Customer. The actual price will be confirmed once our team has inspected the Waste and the Site. If the Waste is significantly more than described, or requires extra labour or time, we will inform the Customer and agree a revised price before proceeding.

All prices are given in pounds sterling and are exclusive of VAT unless otherwise stated. If VAT is applicable, it will be charged in addition at the prevailing rate.

7. Payments and Invoicing

Payment is due at the time of Service, unless otherwise agreed in writing in advance. We accept commonly used payment methods, such as card payment or bank transfer. Cash payments may be accepted by prior agreement.

Where the Customer is a business and credit terms have been agreed in advance, payment will be due within the period specified on the invoice. If payment is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to charge interest on overdue amounts, recover reasonable debt recovery costs, and suspend further services until payment has been made in full.

The Customer must ensure that all payment information provided is accurate and that sufficient funds are available. Title to any collected Waste transfers to us only on receipt of full payment, subject to any applicable waste regulations.

8. Cancellations and Rescheduling

The Customer may cancel or reschedule a booking by contacting us as soon as possible. We operate the following general cancellation rules, unless otherwise stated in writing:

If a booking is cancelled more than 24 hours before the scheduled collection time, no cancellation fee will usually apply.

If a booking is cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled collection time, we may charge a cancellation fee to cover administrative and operational costs.

If our team arrives at the Site and is unable to carry out the Service due to reasons beyond our control, including but not limited to lack of access, incorrect address details, or the Customer not being present where required, we may charge a call-out or wasted journey fee.

We will make reasonable efforts to reschedule a collection if requested, subject to availability. Rescheduled bookings may be treated as new bookings for the purposes of timing and cancellation rules.

9. Service Timing and Delays

We will use reasonable endeavours to attend the Site on the agreed date and within any agreed time window. However, any times given for arrival are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Factors such as traffic, weather, vehicle breakdowns, or operational issues may cause delays.

Where we become aware of a significant delay, we will attempt to notify the Customer and, where possible, offer an alternative time or date. We will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profits, loss of earnings, or missed appointments, arising from delays or rescheduling, except where required by law.

10. Liability and Limitations

We will carry out the Service with reasonable care and skill. However, our liability to the Customer is limited as follows:

We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from inaccurate information provided by the Customer, lack of access, unsafe conditions at the Site, or the presence of prohibited or hazardous items.

We are not responsible for items that the Customer or their representatives fail to identify as Waste or that are left mixed with waste but are intended to be kept. The Customer must clearly separate and identify items not to be removed.

We will take reasonable care when moving items inside or around the Site, but minor scuffs or marks to walls, floors, or doorways may occur where access is tight. The Customer should take reasonable steps to protect surfaces or fixtures in advance.

Our total liability for any loss or damage arising from the Service, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, shall be limited to the amount paid for the specific Service giving rise to the claim, except in cases of death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

We shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, or loss of goodwill.

11. Compliance with Waste Regulations

Waste Removals London operates in accordance with applicable UK waste management legislation and regulations. We use licensed disposal or recycling facilities and aim to minimise the amount of waste sent to landfill where reasonably practicable.

By using our services, the Customer confirms that they are legally entitled to transfer the Waste to us and that the Waste does not contain any prohibited or illegally possessed items. We may refuse to collect any Waste we reasonably believe to be in breach of applicable laws or regulations.

We may issue a waste transfer note or other documentation where required by law or good practice. The Customer must retain any such documents for their records in accordance with statutory requirements, particularly for commercial waste collections.

12. Customer Conduct and Health and Safety

The Customer must not obstruct, abuse, or threaten our staff or agents. We reserve the right to withdraw our team from the Site and cancel the Service without refund if they experience abusive, unsafe, or unlawful behaviour.

We take health and safety seriously and expect the Customer to do the same. If our team reasonably believes that carrying out the Service would pose a risk to health, safety, or property, we may suspend or terminate the Service. In such cases, we may charge a reasonable fee for any work already carried out or for attendance at the Site.

13. Data Protection and Privacy

We collect and process personal data such as names, contact details, and service information in order to provide our waste removal services, manage bookings, and comply with legal obligations. We handle personal data in line with applicable UK data protection laws.

We may use Customer contact details to communicate about bookings, invoices, service updates, or important notices. We will not sell personal data to third parties. We may share limited information with trusted partners, such as payment providers or waste facilities, where necessary to deliver the Service or comply with legal requirements.

14. Events Beyond Our Control

We are not liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay is due to events beyond our reasonable control. This may include extreme weather, accidents, road closures, strikes, vehicle breakdowns, public emergencies, or changes in law or regulation.

If an event beyond our control affects the performance of the Service, we will contact the Customer as soon as reasonably possible to arrange an alternative date or solution where practicable.

15. Variation of Terms

We may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any changes will apply to bookings made after the revised Terms and Conditions are published or communicated. The version in force at the time of booking will apply to that booking.

Any variation to these Terms and Conditions requested by the Customer must be agreed in writing by an authorised representative of Waste Removals London.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found by a court or other competent authority to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be treated as removed to the extent necessary. The remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Service, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the provision of waste removal and waste collection services by Waste Removals London.

18. Contact Information

If you have any questions about these Terms and Conditions, or about any aspect of our waste collection and removal services, please contact our customer service team using the contact details provided on our main communication channels.
